How pizdet.md works
Every hour, at :05, a program reads the news sites of Moldova, picks the stories that matter to ordinary people and scores them from 0 to 100: the Pizdețometru. Those that pass 60 are summarised automatically in four languages from the original articles, with a link to every source. A person does not edit every text before it goes out, so every step is described below.
- Stories published
- 97
- Outlets read
- 43
- Last check
1. We read the sources
Our program reads the RSS feeds and news lists of Moldovan outlets. It follows each site’s rules (robots.txt) and asks for no more than one page per second from any site. We do not read outlets that are blocked in Moldova or that refuse us.
The full list of outlets is on the Sources page.
2. We link the same story
When several outlets write about the same event, their articles become one story on our site, with all the sources. That way you do not see the same price rise five times.
3. The Pizdețometru
Each new story goes to Jev, the judgment model by TypeSafe, with one question: would an ordinary person in Moldova reading this say “pizdeț”? Jev answers with a probability. We multiply it by 100 and get the Pizdețometru.
Jev also checks whether the story concerns people in Moldova, whether it is advertising or PR, and whether the headline is clickbait. We explain at length the stories with a Pizdețometru of at least 60 that concern Moldova and are not advertising. Jev also estimates who a story hurts: a few people, a town or a large group, the whole country. You see it under “Who is affected”.
- 0-39: Calm
- 40-59: Annoying
- 60-79: Pizdeț
- 80-100: Total pizdeț
4. We write in plain words
The summaries are written automatically by Claude Haiku, an AI model by Anthropic, from the text of the original articles only. For each story: a headline, what happened, what it means for you and 3-5 facts, in Romanian, Russian, English and Ukrainian.
A style check rejects texts with empty phrases, rhetorical questions or sentences that are too long. A person does not read every text before it goes out, so mistakes can happen: that is why every article comes with its sources.
5. We publish, with the sources
Every hour we explain at length at most 12 new stories, highest scores first, so a busy day does not flood the site. Every article links to all the outlets it was written from.

Frequently asked questions
Who decides what is “pizdeț”?
Jev, a judgment model made by TypeSafe. For each story it answers whether an ordinary person in Moldova would say “pizdeț” reading it. We explain at length only the stories that score at least 60 out of 100, the others get one line with a link to the source.
Are the texts written by AI?
Yes. The summaries are written automatically by Claude Haiku from the original articles only, which are linked under every story. A style check reviews every text before it is published.
Where does the news come from?
From Moldovan news outlets, read every hour. The full list is on the Sources page. We do not copy their texts: we write our own summary and link to the original.
How do I report a mistake?
Write to corectii@pizdet.md with the link to the article. We fix mistakes within 24 hours.
